I met this family last weekend at a local park for the second session of their Baby's First Year plan. We might have missed the six month mark because we planned for a nice spring Kentucky day instead of an indoor winter session. Of course, that was rained out but we managed to finally get together and get this session wrapped up at about oh, eight months or so - no big deal. Seriously, it was worth the wait. This guy was great and I was also able to get some shots with the rest of the family as well. You know what they say, good things come to those who wait! Check out some of my favorites from the shoot :

I could not be more pleased with the results from this session. Before you consider that bragging, you should know that it was a very cool misty morning here in Lexington. A typical spring here means you never know what to expect and after some deliberation an hour before we were to begin, we decided to proceed. So that being said, it was well worth the time. I had a fun time working with Joe and meeting his family, which included his dog Buster! We spent a couple of hours together and ended up at his house which is always a nice way to remember your senior year in photographs. Today on the blog, I am sharing some of the highlights from the morning. Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

It's always good to finish on a strong note. Last weekend I worked with five seniors and finished with this session photographing Justina. It was a fun time and we shared a few laughs as we worked our way around downtown Lexington while avoiding prom groups, always a challenge. We successfully managed to stay out of their way and get some great shots and I want to share some of those here on the blog.

Sometimes life is all about timing. When it's great, there's nothing better. When it's bad, it's a struggle. Last Saturday we dealt with both sets of circumstances during this senior session with Evelyn. During the first hour of the session I must have said the light was beautiful about a thousand times. It was a perfect morning and the light filtered through the trees in the most flattering way during our time at the park. Then we changed locations and the light was still fine as it rose in the sky but it was soon joined by the howling wind. The wind was strong, gusty, and challenging to say the least. Evelyn did a great job of being patient as we figured out how to play the wind to our advantage and we were able to finish her session on a strong note. I enjoyed working with her and she handled herself great as the session drew to a close. We were able to grab some great shots during the morning and I want to share some of those here on my blog today :

The last time I worked with Erin, she had agreed to be a model in a session that I used to mentor another photographer. That was several years ago and she did an outstanding job at the time. Fast forward a few years and she's now a senior preparing for college! It was good to work with her again last week and I quickly remembered how natural she is in front of the camera. She had some great ideas as well and also trusted me on some of my suggestions - it worked out well, again! At the end of the day, it's really about having a good time and making some memories that will last. I feel we accomplished both of those goals and want to share a little preview of her session here today:
