As the 2016 school year comes to a close, it's now time for the class of 2017 to begin thinking of their senior year. This includes photographer's as well, and this year I am excited for the opportunity to expand my rep program to eight senior's throughout local high school's. So it's with a great deal of excitement that I begin to photograph all of them and share their session's here on my blog!
Today I'd like to introduce Abby, who attends Madison Central High School. She chose to come to Lexington this past weekend and we met downtown to begin her session. As Kentucky weather would have it, there was a frost warning in May and although we delayed the start by almost two hours - it was still quite cold to say the least. Although she did not plan on using a jacket and a hoodie zip in her session - they were actually useful and photographed well with a couple of her outfits! I'll share a few of my favorites here and let you see for yourself.

Yesterday on the blog I featured Katelyn, and if you read that post you know that she and her brother shared a senior session last weekend. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos of Ryan. Picking a location to begin was actually easy for Ryan. He wants to be a firefighter and has already started on the path to achieving that goal, pretty awesome for a senior in high school. So needless to say, I made a few calls and we were able to use a very cool location - a firehouse. That kicked off what I think was a fun morning and certainly a memorable experience for everyone involved. Thanks to all that made that happen and for the hospitality as well. Enjoy the photos!

I spent Sunday morning with Katelyn and her brother Ryan on a joint senior session. Both are senior's at Lafayette this year and we decided to do the session together. Since I was looking for a variety of locations, we decided to use downtown Lexington as a backdrop for what turned out to be a very fun session. I enjoyed talking with them almost as much as I enjoyed working with them on their photo's. They are great kid's and both have some exciting plans for their future. Needless to say, the three hour session passed quickly but not before I was able to get some of these photos that I want to share here. As they say, ladies first, so today I am featuring Katelyn on the blog!

I had a hard time picking photos to share with this blog post which is a good problem when you're a photographer. I met this senior last Sunday at her local high school to begin her session. What better place to begin with cap and gown in hand? After a quick wardrobe and location change to capture her formal side we then hit the creek bank for some shots in all american jean shorts and cowboy boots.
It was a busy morning and it flew by quickly but I did come away with one of the greatest comments I've heard. Her sister, a 5th grader, came with her on the session. At the end of the day, she looked at me and boldly said, "you're more funner than our last photographer". I'll be honest, that made my day!
Here's a look at some of the highlights from her session :

I finished my three weekend session's last week with this family shoot. It was their second session, at six months, of my Baby's First Year package. We met at McConnell's Springs, which was a new location for me, before heading into downtown Lexington to take advantage of a Louis Armstrong mural. Once there, I was informed that his song, What A Wonderful World, was their wedding song - so cool! It was nice to catch up with them, always a favorite part of my first year session's, and see how much the boy's had changed since we last met. The boy's did not disappoint and I think they just might be getting used to me and the camera, which is always a good thing. Here are some of my favorite's from their session :
