An Afternoon With Rena | {Lexington KY Senior Photographers}
Some days it just seems as if everything works out perfectly. Sunday was one of those days. I met Rena at her house in a historic section of Lexington and we literally just set out on an afternoon walk around the area. I believe she had a fun time and probably felt like a professional model during the session. That could have been due to the fact that we were joined by her mother and my assistant Steve, who was carrying a huge five by seven reflector. So yes, we had a little entourage making our way around the neighborhood. We had more than enough good locations to use, the sun was on our face, and by the time we were finished, I was already looking forward to publishing this blog post. Here are a few of my favorites :
Six month family session | {Lexington Ky Photographers}
After a weather delay and a rescheduled session, this little guy was practically seven months old when we met again on Saturday. This would be his final session in my Baby's First Year package and I was looking forward to seeing him again since the last session was his newborn shoot. He was obviously bigger and his little personality was wonderful. He flashed me some smiles, stuck his tongue out, and a few times I caught him giving me the 'do you know what you're doing' look. All in all, other than the brutal cold wind, it was a fun day and good to catch up with this great family. Here is a little look from their session :
Celebrating Spring in February | { Lexington Ky Photographer}
I had a few doubts when I suggested we try to schedule an outdoor session in the middle of February. What can I say? I tend to be an optimist and was believing in the best outcome. Our alternative was to shoot indoors which, although easy to do, just isn't my ideal situation as I love to work with natural light. Needless to say, we were all happy when the temperature was nearly 60 degrees. So, as planned, we met here at The Arboretum along with what seemed like everyone else in Lexington who came out to enjoy this first day of "spring". This cute little girl was in a terrific mood and really worked the camera like a pro. I could not have scripted a better scenario for her six month session and for that, I am thankful. It's always a blessing in life when everything works out as planned and Saturday was one of those days. Here is a preview from her session:
Six Month Session At The Park
One of the things I enjoy about working with families as part of my Baby's First Year packages is, as you would expect, capturing the many changes that occur during that year. But another thing I enjoy is developing a relationship with the families during that time. This family is no exception and I have had so much fun working their two boys and getting to know mom and dad during this time. This was their six month session and to be honest, I am already looking forward to the one year shoot which will be here before you know it.
We met Sunday at a park for a rare opportunity to shoot an outdoor February photography session in Kentucky. Some snacks, a wagon, a few toys, and some muscle milk for your three year old are all it takes to make a memorable day. We got some family, brothers, and individual shots that I just love before the time was over. Here's a little preview of their day :
