Lexington Ky. Senior Photographer | {Ryan}

I met with Ryan this weekend at Tates Creek High School in Lexington KY.  Ryan is a senior linebacker on the football team and I admit, with my love of football, I was more than a little excited at the opportunity to photograph his senior session.  As a bonus, we had access to the locker room and the field for part of his session time.  We made the most of that opportunity and grabbed some shots in both locations before heading downtown to wrap things up.  It's always a good thing when work is fun and Sunday was one of those afternoons.  Here's a sneak peek from the day:

Kentucky Engagement Photographer | { Elizabeth and Nick }

After months of chatting on facebook and email, I was finally able to meet with Elizabeth and Nick at Cave Hill Vineyard for an engagement photography session.  They are getting married here in two weeks and this provided a nice way to get a first glance at the venue.  I enjoyed working with this couple and learning more about them during the process including the fact that Nick actually helped with the planting of the vines. Needless to say, after this weekend I am really looking forward to photographing the wedding in this little slice of Heaven.  Here is a look at a few photos from the evening :

Lexington, KY. Children's Photography | {An evening with Thomas}

At this point, I have photographed quite a few babies and children.  Yet, I am continually amazed at the significant changes that happen between birth and 3 months in a babies life.  I met Thomas and his family a couple of months ago for his newborn session (which you can see here).  As part of their Baby's First Year package, we met again over the weekend for his 3 month session.  You can see for yourself just how much he has grown.  I enjoy working with families while we document all the changes over the course of the first year.   It's a great way to develop a rapport with the parents and the child.   Sunday evening The Arboretum (State Botanical Garden of Kentucky) provided the backdrop as the sun set over the Bluegrass State.  Below is a preview from their session.

I was beginning to think we were cursed.  This family and I have had the worst luck scheduling a photo session.  I actually have lost count of how many times we have had to reschedule but let's just say that this was originally scheduled to be a maternity session and the grass in Lexington has never been greener than this summer.

Better late than never though and now they have a beautiful new addition to the family.  The skies cleared and we met over the weekend for an early evening session.  Big sister Adalynn was quick to warm up to me and we had a fun time running throughout the park.  When I would stop, she often would say, "come on Gwayne".  She's going to make a great big sister in this beautiful family.  Here are a few from the evening:

Lexington, KY Children's Photographer | {Lena turns one!}

One of the greatest compliments that I receive as a photographer is returning families.  That leads to one of the greatest things that I enjoy as a photographer which is watching the children, and families, grow.  Last weekend was another example as I photographed a one year old session with Lena.  I began working with her big brother when he turned one and again when Lena was only a few months old.  This time it was Lena's turn to celebrate her first birthday and she did a great job!  I have to thank Mom for the awesome decor, hand made pennant banner, and birthday cake - nicely done.  Happy Birthday Lena!  Here are a few photos from the session :
