I'm returning to the blog today to post a few of my favorite photos from last weekend. I met this family at their house for some family and newborn photos. We were able to take advantage of some magnificent green space available behind their house and use one of my favorite trees, a weeping willow. The sun was setting behind the draping foliage and that natural backdrop was spectacular for this session. Their newest family member was a real trooper and slept through most of the outdoor portion of the session before we moved inside for his portion of the photo shoot. It was a fun afternoon and the photos turned out better than I could have imagined! I'll let you look for yourself and see what you think :

It's great to be back on the blog. After a crazy few weeks, I've fallen behind on blogging as I have been making it a priority to get complete sessions finished for clients ready to choose Christmas cards! Tonight I want to begin again with this amazing family. Having worked with them previously, it was nice to catch up and update their family photos. They did a great job with their outfits and it really paid off well with the final images. It was enjoyable working with all of them but, as is often the case in family photos, the little guy stole the show during the session. His energy and personality were through the roof and often had me smiling during our time together. Tonight I want to give you a quick glimpse at some of my favorite moments from their session :

I love working senior sessions and I am dreading the imminent cold weather that will put a temporary halt on these shoots until the spring thaw. Saturday I was able to squeeze in one more senior shoot and, although it was cool, we were able to push back the start time to allow for warmer temperatures and get the session finished. Sadie, a senior at Lexington Catholic, did an amazing job and working with her and her mother was an enjoyable experience for me. We went to a couple of my favorite locations that are, quite frankly, the most beautiful this time of year. The backdrop was perfect and the session ended with a lot of great shots. Today on my blog I want to share a few of the highlights with you!

Late Sunday afternoon I met this young man downtown for a little photo session. I was looking forward to working with him as he's one of the coolest young kids I know. He was completely into the session, had a great time, called some of his own shots, and brought a couple of props. Any session with a board and a BMX bike is certain to be a blast and this one did not disappoint. He pulled it off well and I think he made me look good! Here are a few photos from his session so you can judge for yourself :

Late Saturday afternoon I met with Emma, a senior at Lexington Catholic, for her senior session. She was a lot of fun, had a great personality, and was a natural at posing. Her red hair was complimented by the amazing colors of a Kentucky autumn afternoon with the sun setting in the background. It all came together perfectly as if it was somehow a planned event. At the end of the evening, I was beyond pleased with the way the session turned out. Today, I want to give you a glimpse of a few of those shots so you can see what I mean!
