I feel like part of this family now. I have been taking this little guy's photos since birth and watched him grow before my eyes. I think he just might be used to me by now judging from the way he acts in front of my camera!
There is something enjoyable about watching a boy run through the trees and playing in the leaves during the fall. A few times during the shoot, I had to remind myself to pick up the camera and get to work as I found myself soaking in the moment. I regrouped quickly and put myself in harms way of the flying leaves but it was well worth it. Here is a sample of the images from the afternoon spent with his family:

I have been doing this for quite some time now but I had a first this weekend as I met with this family for their fall photo session. I don't know if they realize it yet but their little man might just have a passion for photography. He's been the first child I have worked with that liked to run toward the camera as I was taking his pictures. He was definitely interested and I took the time to show him a few of him off the back of the camera as well. We had a good time and I think that can be seen in the photographs. I have just recently become friends with this family and was really honored when they asked if I could do their family photo session. We met at a local venue here in Lexington, KY. on a beautiful fall evening and the timing could not have been better. There is nothing like the highlight of evening fall sun fading across the horizon. Photographers refer to this as the golden hour as the lighting is perfect. I could not have asked for a nicer scene or family to work with! Here is a preview of their session :
Lexington Ky. Children's Photographer | {Lily turns one!}
It was bittersweet as I met with Lily and her parents Saturday. This was the last session of her Baby's First Year package and it seems like we just got started yesterday. My how time flies! She was in a great mood though and finished in style. She braved the cool weather and wind and was a terrific trooper all the way to the grand finale - birthday cake! It has been great working with this family and I look forward to keeping in touch as time goes by! Here is Lily's preview from Saturday :
Lexington Ky Children's Photography | {Fall, Family, Fun}
This little guy really likes his truck! I met up with him and his parents at a local park last weekend for this session. Having already worked with him before, I was looking forward to the chance to do another shoot and he did not disappoint. He was a trooper as he navigated the area carefully placing one foot in front of the other, never too discouraged if he fell down. One year olds are entertaining to watch and photograph as everything is new and interesting to their quickly developing minds and bodies. They are always entertaining and there is never a dull moment. Here is a preview of his session :
