I spent Saturday evening celebrating with Mr and Mrs Wise! They had a destination wedding in Florida earlier in July and wanted to give their friends and family a chance to celebrate with a reception in Georgetown, Ky. They did a terrific job using small details to bring the beach back home to central Kentucky for the occasion. Viewing the video of the wedding at the beginning of the reception provided a sense of continuity for all at the those who did not have the opportunity to travel to Florida. The theme was casual beach wear, the mood relaxed, the food wonderful, and the cake smash was definitely a smash. Congratulations to the newlyweds! Thanks for allowing me to play a small part in your day and capture some great memories. Here's a look at a few from the reception :

Last weekend I had a chance to work a session with the entire group of 2016 senior reps. It was a nice opportunity for me to get to know each of them a little more as well as a chance for them to meet each other. The location could not have been more perfect as I was able to secure a sunflower field just outside of Lexington Ky for a couple of hours. The sun was bright, the flowers in full bloom, and the girls coordinated in white sundresses - all of which made my job easy. I need to thank them for coming out, looking amazing, and enduring the very warm evening - great job girls!
I'd like to introduce you to the entire group of 2016 senior models. If you are a senior and know them, ask them how to book a session - they have a deal for you as well! Here's a look at a few of their photos :

Today I want to begin introducing my 2016 Senior Reps for Lexington Ky High Schools. After starting a rep program last year, I decided to expand it this year and branch out to more area schools. Their sessions will be completed in the next few weeks so be sure to check back here to view the other three seniors as well as their group session.
My first session was with Maddie, a senior at Sayre School. We decided to begin her session downtown and continue in a local warehouse district. As we were shooting she told me one of the locations happened to be where she and her friends would periodically come and hang out for lunch. Although that was completely unplanned, I thought it was kind of cool for a location.
Maddie did a great job and I had a lot of fun working with her. She really hung in there toward the end of her session as the temperature rose with the late morning rising sun. I think she had a fun time as well and I am glad she volunteered to help me out as a rep. If you are a senior and know Maddie, make sure you ask her how you can book your senior session!

Having been a year since I last worked with this family, I was looking forward to seeing them again and catching up on lost time. I worked with them several times as part of their Baby's First Year package and wanted to see how they were doing and just how much their little man had grown. Obviously, walking has been completely mastered, running is now the preferred method of transportation, and the vocabulary skills are excellent. It was a reminder of how quickly they grow! He did great for the session and we took advantage of some very nice morning sunlight to take a few some family photos as well. Here is a look at a few photos from the day - Enjoy!

I am often asked, what do you like most about photography? I am not sure what answer people expect to hear but I would guess that it would have something to do with the technical aspect, style, or a specific type such as weddings or children. The truth, however, is that I like meeting new clients and listening to their stories - how they met, their plans, dreams etc. That leads to some good memories and relationships that coincide with the images from the sessions.
Kim and Dave are no exception. Actually, after spending Sunday morning with them, I realized we have some common interest. My daughter just returned from a YoungLife camp this week and Dave just happened to have one of their stickers on the back of his car. A few questions later and I discover he was a leader with the group for a few years. And Kim, she recently began work as a physical therapist - the same profession as my second shooter, Steve. It's those little things that I find pretty darn cool. One thing we don't have in common? Dancing. These two have some serious moves and I can't wait to see them during their reception. As for me, I promise - I'll be on the side with a camera in my hand. That's better for all involved!
Let me introduce you to this great couple :
