I've been a photographer long enough to know that things don't always go as planned. This is especially true with wedding photography but also happens during other sessions.  This was the case last weekend when I met this lovely couple for their engagement session in Louisville Ky.

As we arrived to shoot by the riverfront and in downtown Louisville, we were greeted by police cruisers blocking access to all of the downtown corridors.  We quickly realized that Louisville was hosting an Ironman competition that morning and that area was closed to traffic for the majority of the day.  

As we took some time to change our strategy and location, we decided after a few minutes to actually drive to Indiana and then walk across the Big Four Bridge to gain access to our original location!  That turned out to be a great idea as it not only gave us another backdrop to use but time to really get to know each other during the walk which is one reason all of my wedding packages include an engagement session.  

​During this time I learned that this is going to be a fun couple to work with.  I can't tell you how much laughter took place during the morning but I think it is safe to say we all had a good time.  I am already looking forward to working with them on their wedding next year but for now, I would like to share some of my favorite moments from this past weekend.
